The KMD-300 / GD2 (Audi part# 4E0 035 121 41 ) most likely uses the MOST Bus, a daisy-chain topology or ring topology and synchronous data communication to transport audio, video, voice and data signals via plastic optical fiber (POF) (MOST25, MOST150). Harman Becker Automotive Systems manufactures the MMI system for Audi, utilizing QNX Neutrino's Real Time Operating System (RTOS) software. The Service Manual has a tremendous amount of detail.
